NTUS Lab is a medical technology research group within CINAC, a multidisciplinary neuroscience center focused on developing therapies for Parkinson’s disease. We specialize in applied neuroscience, leveraging advances in neuroimaging and therapeutic ultrasound to support the validation of emerging technologies and enhance existing treatments.

Our goal is to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of non-invasive therapeutic solutions and innovation in neuroengineering.

Enhanced delivery of an Alzheimer’s drug into the brain

A recent study in The New England Journal of Medicine shows that focused ultrasound can safely open the blood-brain barrier and enhance the delivery of the anti-amyloid antibody Aducanumab, leading to greater reduction of amyloid plaques in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. A promising step toward more targeted therapies.
